Consulting and Coaching

EIRM provides a broad range of consultative services, focusing primarily on risk leadership in organisational settings. Risk leadership references those aspects of risk management that relate to top-level decision making and are closely tied to strategy, governance and compliance.

Working with executives, boards, and chief risk officers, EIRM can help establish an organisation’s risk policy and programme, assuring that the risk management programme is comprehensive, integrated and responsive to the needs of decision makers within the organisation. We can also support the development of risk communication strategies, both internal and external.

Working with technical staff, we can design early warning and reporting systems to effectively inform risk analysts and – ultimately – decision makers. We can help identify and analyse the information required to enable an organisation to evaluate and forecast the impact of current and future hazards and opportunities.

The nature of EIRM’s consultative work has varied over the years, but includes:

  • Mentoring and coaching risk professionals
  • Training and educational programmes within large organisations
  • Project management consulting, both in the development and execution phases
  • Risk management programme review and audit
  • Independent risk assessment
  • Risk financing programme strategy development, design, and implementation

Although widely varied, all projects have served to help organisations better achieve their risk management goals and, in doing so, assist individuals within organisations develop appropriate risk leadership skills.
